The Anno Nortone (AN) calendar is used in the Micras geofiction community. Years are counted after the death of Norton (Ab Nortone, AN; Greek: meta thanaton Nortou). His year of death is AN 0. The first year after his death is AN 1. Years before his death are counted as before Norton (bN; Greek: pro thanatou Nortou).
Emperor Norton the Undying (Nurtan Adzalntse; died in year 0 AN) was the last emperor of Khaz Modan, believed to have died in the collapse of that empire. His death presaged the birth of Raynor I and the foundation of Shireroth 79 years later. The Norton calendar only became standard some 1600 years after his death.

Zodiac Cycle: Each AN year is named after a zodiac sign based on its corresponding Gregorian month. January years are "Year of Viviantiana", February years are "Year of Biternion" (or Qarbinion in leap years), etc.
